Alcantarilla recovers tomorrow the traditional procession of San Antonio Abad, San Antón, which had not been held for 15 years.
The acts in honor of San Antón will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a mass at the chapel of Our Lady of Health, sung by the Auroros de Alcantarilla Bell.
Subsequently, the procession of San Antón will be held by the Salt Water site, and once finished the blessing of the animals will take place in the portico of the hermitage, about 18 hours.
The traditional festival of San Antón was held in Alcantarilla until 1961 around the parish of San Pedro Apóstol, in the center of the town.
From 1961 this holiday was stopped until in 1974 it was resumed with the inauguration of the Hermitage of Health.
In 1978, the president of the Brotherhood of San Antón, Fulgencio Sánchez, acquired the current image of the saint, which is what he will process again tomorrow.
