The City Council of Alcantarilla intensifies the campaign of cleaning of garbage collection points and monitoring of containers to control that the garbage is deposited at the authorized time and inside the containers.
The objective of this campaign is to improve waste collection points and keep them clean, in order to avoid bad odors and discomfort to neighbors.
The special cleaning, which will be carried out in all waste collection points of the municipality in a progressive manner, has begun this morning in the two container batteries of Miguel Ballesta street.
The containers are cleaned inside, outside and the surrounding area.
In addition, after cleaning, a special police surveillance will be maintained so that citizens comply with the regulations.
This campaign will reach 54 city waste collection batteries.
In addition, the Local Police will intensify surveillance so that pet owners collect their dog's droppings from public roads.
The ordinance includes penalties of up to 700 euros for citizens who deposit garbage outside the established schedule (after 20 hours), and for people who deposit garbage outside the container.

Also the Ordinance on Protection and Tenure of Pets provides penalties, from 100 to 1,500 euros, for pet owners who do not collect the excrement of their dogs on public roads.
