The bonus applied by the City Council of Alcantarilla to those taxpayers who have domiciled the Urban Property Tax (IBI) has allowed the sewers to save 1.12 million euros in the last five years.
Since 2015 the percentage of direct debits has increased by 30.26 percent.
Going from 46.19 percent of receipts domiciled in 2015 to 60.17 percent during 2019. Citizens domiciling their tax save 5 percent on their receipt.
Last year the savings was about 250,000 euros.
In addition, during the past year a reduction of the tax rate was applied that went from 0.75 in 2018 to 0.725 in 2019, which has meant a saving for the taxpayers of the municipality of about 242,000 euros.
The collection planned for the tax last year was 8.48 million euros, of which 86.43 percent, 7.33 million euros, were collected in a voluntary period.
The remaining receipts, 12.42 percent, became executive;
and the remaining 1.15 correspond to canceled or postponed receipts within the voluntary payment period.
The Councilor for Finance of the City of Alcantarilla, Raquel de la Paz, stressed that "we offer different methods of payment fractionation adapted to the needs of citizens such as monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly and semi-annual."
