Former Senator Nuria Guijarro was in charge yesterday of proclaiming Christmas in Alcantarilla, in an event organized by the Brotherhood of Our Lord Jesus Christ Risen, which was held at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, highlighted "the solidarity and generosity of the sewers", and encouraged "to spread happiness this Christmas and to look at these holidays with the imagination of a child."
During the reading of the proclamation, the Cristo de la Misericordia choral rondalla de la Peña Huertana El Caliche, from Los Garres (Murcia) performed.
The proclamation begins a program that has more than fifty activities designed especially for children and young people, and will run until January 5.
