Alcantarilla commemorates next week the Universal Children's Day with the celebration on Tuesday, November 19, of the Children's Plenary in which the students of Primary School of the schools of the municipality will participate.
The Plenary is scheduled from 10:00 am at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center.
On Wednesday, November 20, the "Alcantarilla, Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia" sign will be installed by Unicef, which will be located at the access to the municipality by Hero and Martínez Campos, at 10:30 am.
Subsequently, leisure activities will be held for the nearly 500 second-year students of Primary Education, of all the educational centers of the municipality, in the Plaza de San Pedro.
At 11:45 hours the students of San José Obrero School will read a manifesto from the balcony of the City Hall.
The students of the IES Sanje will also participate on Wednesday in the celebration of this day with a march from the institute to the Plaza de San Pedro with the motto of the Unicef ​​project, "A drop", and will read a manifesto made by them at 12 : 45 hours on the balcony of the City Hall.
Universal Children's Day is commemorated on Wednesday, November 20 to call attention to the situation of the most disadvantaged children, to raise awareness of children's rights and to raise awareness of the importance of working day by day for their well-being and development, according to UNICEF.
The City of Alcantarilla began in 2017 its project to be part of the network of Child Friendly Cities.
Unicef ​​granted this distinction to the municipality in November 2018, highlighting Alcantarilla's commitment to the participation of the youngest in municipal decision-making, such as the celebration of the Children's Plenary and the elaboration of the I Childhood and Adolescence Plan.
