The Federation of Festive and Cultural Peñas de Alcantarilla celebrates tonight, at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center, the XIII Annual Gala with the delivery of the Oinokoe Prize, which this year will fall, by unanimous agreement of all the clubs, in the Estrella de Levante company .
The awards ceremony will be chaired by the Minister of Education and Culture, Esperanza Moreno, the president of the Peñas Federation, Juan Sornichero, and the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía.
The Oinokoe Prize is the highest award granted by the Federation of Peñas and this year is awarded to Estrella de Levante for the close and close collaboration maintained in recent years between the company and the Peñas Federation.
The previous general director, Patricio Valverde, received the title of Warlock of the Year 2013, and for some years now the winning poster of the Feasts of the Witch of the Federation is presented in the factory.
The award will be collected by the Communication Director of Estrella de Levante, Yayo Delgado.
The V Gold Broom-Normatex will be for Francisco Almela Navarro, popularly known as "Canales", who at 86 years of age, continues to be part of the Peña "El Clavel" and actively participate in the party.
Francisco Almela began in 1992 in the rock "El Clavel" and after ten years he left it to found the rock "Santa Inquisición".
Later he returned to the rock "The Carnation" to give him a new impulse.
In 2012, the Federation of Peñas Festeras granted him recognition for being the longest-standing rocker and his club named him President of Honor.
In 2016 he received the shield of the 25 years of the Federation.
In addition, "Canales" is a member of the Auroros Bell, where he began in 1941 with his grandfather, and president of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Aurora de Alcantarilla.
This year he has received the appointment of Auroro de Honor.
The Golden Broom is named after Normatex as it is the company that sponsors it.
At the gala, the annual awards will also be given to those rockers who fulfill their "silver wedding", 25 years as a rocker, which this time is for Diego García Morata, of the rock "Los Brujos", Juan Martínez and Francisco Martínez, of the rock "Those who were missing";
and the annual awards will be given to the "Distinguished Peñistas", proposed by their own clubs, 18 distinctions that will be known during the gala.
The Oinokoe Prize gala is held symbolically on the night of October 31, as it coincides with Halloween.
