The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, has received this morning the new president of the Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Consuelo, Antonio Mellado García, and members of the new board of directors, which was elected after the elections held recently.

Mellado replaces José Férez in office.

The Cristo del Consuelo is the image found in the chapel of the municipal cemetery and processes the night of Holy Thursday.

Among the activities of the Brotherhood is the celebration of the Solemn Mass on All Saints' Day, November 1, at 5 pm, in the cemetery chapel.

Also, during Holy Week the transfer of the image of Christ from the cemetery to the church of San Pedro is carried out.
