The Governing Board of the City Council has approved to declare the urban area of ​​the Alcantarilla as an Urban Regeneration and Renovation Area (ARRU), so that the residents of the area can access aid managed by the Autonomous Community for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of households.
These grants are part of the Urban and Rural Regeneration and Renovation Promotion Program of the State Housing Plan 2018-2021.
The City Council has requested the Community to declare ARRU, with the aim of accessing the aid proposed for maintenance work in single-family homes or apartment blocks (roof renovation, facade, interior elements), improvement of energy efficiency of houses (replacement of windows, improvement of insulation), conservation actions, improvement of accessibility (installation of elevators and ramps) and works of buildings and homes replacing demolished buildings and homes.
The Councilor for Urban Development of the City of Alcantarilla, Laura Sandoval, explained that "those residents who have their properties in the urban area, which is the area defined as ARRU, can access these grants with the aim of improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of these properties and favor the regeneration of the urban landscape of our city ".
Once the Community approves the declaration of ARRU, the City Council will inform about the term of the call to request the aid, which ranges between 12,000 and 30,000 euros per dwelling, depending on the case.
