The Local Sewer Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, with the collaboration of the City Council, has organized the Health Week with a series of conferences and the musical 'Game of Thrones'.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, who participated in the opening of the conference stressed that “the main objective is to raise awareness among the population about cancer and the importance of prevention and early detection, and offer a message of hope, since it is a disease that can be survived â€.
The activities began yesterday with the conference of the doctor in Immunology of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital, researcher and writer José Antonio Galián Mejías.
This afternoon, the Rheumatology doctor of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital and former president of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology, Manuel Castaño Sánchez, will offer the paper 'Rheumatological diseases, new treatment horizons'.
Tomorrow, Thursday, Dr. José María Moraleda Jiménez, Professor of Medicine of the Head of Hematology Service of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital and president of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy, will offer the conference 'Cell Therapy with Car-T, can we cure cancer?'.
On Friday the musical 'Game of Thrones' will be staged, by the dance group Dinamur, from El Palmar (Murcia).
All events will be held at the Infanta Elena de Alcantarilla Cultural Center, at 8:30 p.m.
