More than 200 people participated today in the Jura de Bandera event for civilian personnel organized by the City Council and the Alcantarilla Air Base on the occasion of the flag raising and Homage to the Fallen by Spain, to commemorate the National Holiday Day .
In addition, around 2,000 people attended the event, air and land parade along the main street of the town and exhibition by the Air Force Paratrooper Patrol (PAPEA).
The event was chaired by the Chief of General Air Command of the Air Force (MAGEN), Emilio Juan Gracia Cirugeda, along with the chief colonel of the Alcantarilla Air Base and director of the Military School of Parachuting 'Méndez Parada', Francisco Javier Fernández , and the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía.
In addition, the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, the president of the Regional Assembly, Alberto Castillo, the Delegate of Defense in the Region of Murcia, José Ignacio Martí Scharfhausen, and the Minister of Finance and Presidency, Javier Celdrán participated .
The activities began at 10:30 am with the entry of military training to Adolfo Suárez Square.
Subsequently, nine soldiers deployed the Flag of Spain, which is 54 square meters and hoisted on a 25-meter-high mast located in the square, while the National Anthem sounded.
More than 200 people swore Flag, and later the Tribute to the Fallen by Spain was celebrated, with the offering of a laurel wreath at the foot of the monolith, where was the Patroness of the Air Force, the Virgin of Loreto.
Attendees were able to enjoy a rifle salvage and passing of T-12B Aviocar aircraft, belonging to the 721 Air Force Squadron of the EMP, while the Music Unit performed the National Anthem.
Next, the parade on Main Street was held with vehicles from the 721 Air Force Squadron of the EMP, the Spending Squad, the Music Unit of the AGA and a mixed squad of the Military School of Parachuting and EZAPAC.
Finally, the Air Force Paratrooper Patrol (PAPEA) made an exhibition with a paratrooper launch, at the Fiesta Venue, and deployed the flags of Spain, the Army of the Air and the Alcantarilla.
Exhibition of the work of 600 students
In addition, in the Adolfo Suárez square, the work done by 600 students from the town who participated in the IV Exhibition of Plastic Expression '12 de Octubre, the Festival of my Country 'were exhibited.
The Tribute to the Flag has been celebrated since 2009, when Adolfo Suárez Square was inaugurated, with the collaboration of the Alcantarilla Air Base and the participation of military personnel from all units that are based at the Base, the Military Parachuting School 'Méndez Parada', the EZAPAC (Squadron of Parachute Sappers of the Air Force), the PAPEA (Acrobatic Paratrooper Patrol of the Air Force), the 721 Squadron of Air Forces.
