The City Council of Alcantarilla joins the celebration of World Alzheimer's Day to raise public awareness about this disease, its detection and treatment, participating in the Open House of the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients of Alcantarilla (Afade).
Among the activities planned by the center on the occasion of World Day, which is celebrated tomorrow with the motto # Evolution, is the celebration this afternoon, at 6 pm and 8 pm, of a charity dance gala of the María Dolores Riquelme Academy , in the Infanta Elena Cultural Center;
on Sunday, September 22, there will be a walking path in solidarity to the Mines of Mazarrón in the morning, and at night an orchard in memory of the people killed because of this disease in the church of the Assumption;
and on October 6 a charity meal is planned at the Hotel La Paz.
The councilors of the Government team of the City Council of Alcantarilla Francisca Terol, María Ignacia Domingo, Laura Sandoval and Luis Salinas, together with the general director of Planning, Research, Pharmacy and Citizen Services, María Teresa Martínez, attended the open day and shared with the users the scheduled activities.
Afade has an important number of users since Alcantarilla has three day centers, the Diego Cubillana senior center, managed by the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), the Pedro Hernández Caballero municipal day center and the day center of Affade.
Afade offers in Alcantarilla daytime service, home care, family care and general services.
Annually attend an average of 93 people affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and 34 family members / caregivers.
Afade has 20 professionals.
