The City Council of Alcantarilla has suspended the activity at the Pedro Hernández Caballero day center and all sports activities scheduled for today and tomorrow at the notice of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) of adverse meteorological phenomena of red level (extreme) due to rain in the Region of Murcia, between 6 hours on 12 and 6 hours on 13.
The decision has been taken from the Murciano Institute of Social Action, the Ministry of Education and the General Directorate of Sports, in coordination with the City Council of Alcantarilla, in order to prevent risks in travel.
Also, classes have been suspended today in the Alcantarilla schools, according to the order of the Ministry of Education, which has decided to suspend classes throughout the Region.
All municipal services are coordinated to solve possible incidents.
Local Police has activated its special protocol in the face of the threat of heavy rain that includes cutting streets and closing gardens that may be affected.
Firefighters, Civil Protection, the City Development Department and the water and sanitation service are also on alert to intervene if necessary.
