The municipality of Alcantarilla will have the first two charging points for electric vehicles, which will allow for efficient and sustainable mobility.
The Governing Board approved today to request a grant to the Moves program of the Autonomous Community for the implementation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
They will be located on Calle Mayor, on the stretch between Plaza de la Constitución and Tío Viruta Street, and another in front of the Campoamor Garden.
The charging points will be double, with 50 Kw each connection, and will allow a quick charge of 20 minutes.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, explained that "this initiative is part of the Action Plan for Climate and Sustainable Energy (Peace) of the City Council, approved last April, which has actions such as promoting among the residents of Alcantarilla the acquisition of such vehicles and reduce CO2 emissions. "
In addition, Alcantarilla joined the European initiative to fight climate change Pact of Mayors for Climate and Energy 2017, and acquired the commitment to achieve the objective of the European Union that marks the reduction by 40 percent of gases from greenhouse effect until 2030, and promote and develop measures to mitigate climate change.
