Today, in the hall of the Citizen Participation Center, the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía and the general director of Public Function and Quality of Services of the Region of Murcia, Carmen María Zamora have opened the Conference on " Intervention and mediation in the face of discriminatory situations due to sexual-affective diversity ", which will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of April in Alcantarilla, organized by the City Council, on the initiative of its councils of Citizen Security and Education, and the School of Training and Innovation of the Public Administration (EFIAP).
In this meeting, professionals from the educational, police and social policy fields participate, with the aim of raising awareness in the fight against discrimination in schools and attention to affective-sexual diversity.
In the Conference will also update knowledge and contextualization in the legal framework, exchanging successful experiences in the field of education and offer support tools in conflict situations.
The premise of these conferences is facilitated by the principle of equal opportunities, and in particular the principle of equality and non-discrimination, which is an essential element of our democratic and legal State.
The papers will be presented by Reyes Torres García, from the Police Mediation Unit of Vila Real (Castellón), Isabel Frutos Frutos and Juan José Hernández Infante, professors of Vocational Training of the Sociocultural and Community Services cycles, Fuensanta Cerezo Ramírez, professor holder of the University of Murcia and Francisco Andrés Rodríguez, together with Víctor Manuel Hidalgo de León, members of the Police Diversity Management Unit, of the Local Police of the Madrid City Council.
This presentation will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Citizen Participation Center of Alcantarilla, in the morning and, from 4:00 pm in the Sanje Institute, where involved wrestlers and connoisseurs of the subject, as well as Ana Peinado, doctor in Psychology, Carmen López Martínez.
Psychologist specializing in clinical sexology and sex education, Carmen Yago Alonso, psychologist and associate professor at the University of Murcia and Alejandra Rabadán, clinical psychologist and Master in Psychology of Social Intervention.
The Days are intended for Personnel public employees: local police headquarters, responsible managers of Police Tutor teams, Professionals of the Orientation teams of the IES of the Region and Social Services Professionals who work with children and in educational centers.
Its aim is to provide these groups with tools for the elimination of homophobic conflicts towards LGBT students.
The Regional Law 8/2016, of May 27, on the social equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transgender and intersex people, and public policies against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, states that "the Community, within the scope of its powers, will ensure that the training of security forces includes measures of respect for gender identity and expression and the adoption of the necessary measures for the care of victims of hate crimes for reasons of identity and / or gender expression, when they are victims of aggression, harassment or coercion, both physical and virtual means. "
Likewise, article 26 provides that schools "shall promote actions that allow the detection, prevention and protection of discrimination or harassment actions and avoid the imparting of discriminatory content towards LGBTI persons." These commitments will be expressed explicitly in their study plans and programs. "
Public administrations can not remain outside the social reality, hence the School of Training and Innovation of the Public Administration (EFIAP) and the Town Hall of Sewer through its Councils of Citizen Security and Education, promote these work days in the educational and police field in order that public policies integrate transversally the principle of equality and non-discrimination, as well as the fight against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and thus strengthen the effectiveness, efficiency, quality , transparency, equity and responsibility for public actions and decisions that affect, among other groups, childhood and adolescence.
