Arcadio Martínez, Secretary General of Podemos Alcantarilla and candidate for mayor, has shown that the municipality has two schools that are still covered with asbestos.
In addition, seeing the slowness with which the withdrawal work is carried out, it poses a great risk to the health of our children, who are exposed every day to this substance.
This problem affects part of the school population of our locality, being affected schools like: CEIP Jacinto Benavente and CEIP Our Lady of the Assumption ..
"From Podemos Alcantarilla we find it incredible the laxity with which the Ministries of Education and Health are facing the study and removal of this danger for the children of our Region.
That is why we demand speed and commitment on the part of the Regional Government, so that it does not let pass another minute without setting in motion the necessary measures so that our minors can access their centers with total guarantee for their health ".
Arcadio Martínez believes that "neither the administrations should remain passive, nor the political groups of this municipality can be indifferent to a problem that can cause, in the long run, a detriment to the health of our population because of the state of conservation of the panels of fiber cement that make up the roofs of our public buildings ".
Finally, he stressed that "those exposed yesterday are the patients of today.
If we do nothing, those exposed today will be the sick of tomorrow. "
