CB Jairis de Alcantarilla presented his schools and his 13 basketball teams of the current season at the Fausto Vicent pavilion in the town on Sunday.
The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Buendía, and club president, Mariano Vivancos, attended the event.
CB Jairis is the oldest basketball club in the Region of Murcia.
He began his sports activity in 1954 and in 1960, under the auspices of its founder Fausto Vicent, and under the definitive name of Club Jairis, he began to participate in federated Basketball, Football and Athletics competitions.
However, basketball is currently the only one that lasts in the club.
The Jairis is consolidated as one of the most important in its discipline.
In the 2013/14 season he made history by winning the promotion of his three senior teams, something that until then had not achieved any Spanish club.
Currently has male and female teams in the categories Benjamin, alevin, children, cadet, junior and senior, as well as a male veteran, small basketball and schools.
