IU-Verdes Alcantarilla has announced this morning at a press conference and through Vero Montenegro (responsible for women) the candidature that will go to the Town Hall Sewer, headed by José Ángel Durán and composed of 11 women and 10 men representative of the different social, neighborhood, union, feminist and environmental groups of the municipality.
Jana Lorenzo (Secretary of organization) has highlighted the importance that IU gives to citizen participation and announced that next week will launch a campaign under the name "Your word matters", with which we intend to reach all neighborhoods through meetings with our candidates and a survey with the intention of collecting proposals and concerns from neighbors.
The coordinator José A. Durán, has stated that the candidacy of IU-Greens represents a serious and coherent left, which says it does and does what it says.
He has also indicated that the axis of his electoral program will be directed mainly to the socio-economic development of our municipality through the strengthening of public services.
He recalled that Alcantarilla has almost 4,000 unemployed and with large sectors of the population in a situation of social exclusion.
Therefore they have announced that they will work on the solution to employment problems through remunicipalisations and different measures that facilitate the path to self-employment, new entrepreneurs and cooperative projects.
The transfer of the Chemical Pole, the promotion of social rent and public housing, the defense of small businesses, the development of participatory budgets, the elimination of asbestos, the creation of alternative cultural spaces and the improvement of social policies will be fundamental aspects with those that IU-Greens will attend the next elections.
