The Autonomous Community is putting out to tender for € 1.3 million the repair and reinforcement works for the regional highway RM-E4, known as Camino de los Soldados, which connects El Palmar with the industrial estate West de Alcantarilla.
Companies interested in carrying out this work can submit their offers until next March 13.
The general secretary of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, Yolanda Muñoz, accompanied by the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, and the Councilor for Infrastructure of Murcia, Rebeca Pérez, presented to the entrepreneurs of the polygon this action that will benefit more than 15,000 workers of the 1,500 companies of the polygon.
In the same one they were the president of the Association of Employers of the Western Industrial Estate, Antonio Castillo, the president of the Entity of Conservation of said Polygon, Francisco Cabrera, as well as the general director of Roads, Francisco José González and the councilmen of Urbanism , Juan Manuel Gómez and Public Safety, Works and Services, Juan Antonio Mata, City Hall Sewer.
This business complex is visited daily by some 20,000 people.
The works contemplate the improvement of road safety with the construction of two roundabouts and a T-shaped intersection.
The RM-E4 highway, which runs through the municipal areas of Alcantarilla and Murcia, is one of the main routes connecting Sewer to the Western Industrial Park, which runs 6,000 vehicles a day, of which 300 are heavy.
The main objective of this action is to solve an existing road safety problem, due to the fact that there are many crossings with adjacent streets to the Industrial West Estate.
The action consists mainly of a reinforcement of the road surface, in a stretch of 2,840 meters, and properly order the accesses to the adjacent streets of the western industrial estate and the intersections with the regional roads.
In it, an elliptical arbor will be built at the intersection with the Hondo road (RM-E3) and the Costa Rica street of the industrial estate.
As well as another circular roundabout at the intersection with the Ermita road (RM-E28) and with the Uruguay street of the industrial estate.
The works of this road of great importance for the sewers who daily have the need to go to the University Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca or direction Mar Menor or Cartagena, will also improve in the turns to the left by the construction of central lanes of waiting and incorporation, in the northern vertex of the industrial estate.
The tender agreement for the improvement works of this road was taken at the Government Council held in Alcantarilla, in the Museum of La Huerta, on February 13, with a total investment of 1,337,287 euros.
