On the morning of Sunday 24 and for the sixth consecutive year the Sewer Air Base celebrates its sixth edition of the popular race that is organized in collaboration with the Town Hall of Sewer and Sangonera la Seca, maintains the same format as in previous years .
Two thousand runners faced two routes, one of 5 kilometers that runs through the Villa de Alcantarilla and the second more technical, of 14 kilometers, which crossed the facilities of the Air Base and the Village of Sangonera la Seca.
"In this sixth edition we have exceeded all expectations, we thank the two thousand registered and we regret those who have been left out of the competition.
Next year, we will value expanding registrations due to the influx of brokers who wish to participate for a cause of solidarity. "
This is how the Colonel Jefe of the Alcantarilla Air Base started just before starting the street on the Calle Mayor de Alcantarilla.
Both routes began simultaneously at ten in the morning from the Calle Mayor de Alcantarilla.
The race was conducted with normality despite the influx of so many people who did not want to miss the start, encouraging the runners at all times and at different kilometer points, as well as enjoying a pleasant, supportive atmosphere in the Plaza de Adolfo Suárez. and sports
A race that has been characterized in this edition for its high level of sports, in which the circuit of 5K was completed in just over 16 minutes, two minutes later the first female runner arrived on this course.
At 47 minutes the first runner competing in the 14K circuit crossed the finish line.
In addition, this year has been an inclusive race in which runners with reduced mobility who belonged to the association "Zancadas sobre ruedas" participated.
DELIVERY OF TORPHOS
The ceremony of trophies began at 12:15 with the delivery of a plaque in recognition of his contribution to this and previous editions of the Secondary Air Base Race to Lieutenant Colonel Mr. José Pablo Aldama, giving him such recognition Colonel Chief of the Base D.
