The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía and the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, together with the president of the Cooperativa de Enseñanza Samaniego, Mª Concepción Carrillo, have signed an agreement today to extend the collaboration agreement between both institutions, for the development of research and training programs in Sports Sciences.
The rector in this his first institutional visit to Alcantarilla has signed in the golden book of the city and has visited the Museum of the Huerta, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary and the remodeling works of its environment, along with the discovery of the arches of the aqueduct of the Rueda de Alcantarilla.
In the same have been accompanied by the dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Arturo Díaz and the councilors of Education, Juan Manuel Gómez and Sports, Antonio Martínez.
Since the 2013/2014 course, the Town Hall of Sewer, through the Department of Sports, has been collaborating with the University of Murcia, through the group of Research, Sport, Management and Recreation "INGESPORT", of the School of Sports Sciences of the University of Murcia, together with the Samaniego Teaching Center, teaching the TAFAD (Higher Technician in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities), thus becoming a research laboratory and Training in Sports Science.
Now the collaboration after four years is maintained, since today has subscribed an extension of the same and continue with the purpose of this collaboration in promoting training and research in the sport of the Region of Murcia and contribute in a way direct to improve the quality of life of all Murcia, with the realization of studies on sports practice habits and the effects on health conditions, with the participation of sports programs of the municipality of Sewer and the number of federated practitioners, school and athletes in general who agree with the Department of Sports.
The Sewer City Council will facilitate the use of its sports facilities and to be able to count on the citizens of the municipality, on the other hand the Samaniego Teaching Center through the students of the TAFAD, will carry out the field tests in the investigations and will become a Center of reference in sports training.
With the extension of this agreement we take an important step to have a reference municipality and a center with non-university studies related to Sports Science, favoring with this initial will serve to enhance training and research in the sport of the Region of Murcia, contributing directly to improve the quality of life of all Murcia.
In this institutional visit of the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, had his opportune moment to sign in the Gold Book of the City of Alcantarilla and visit together with the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, the Museum of the Huerta to be in the year of celebration of its 50th anniversary, as well as the works of the park that have started next to it and has been able to personally verify the works that are being carried out of excavation and discovery of the arches and aqueduct of the Rueda de Alcantarilla and that in about five months will be finished.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, has also invited the rector to join the University to know all these works, in these moments of arches cleaning and collection of possible archaeological remains that are, or one day in those jobs that could be performed in the Cabezo that is next to the Hermitage of the Virgin of the Health and the place of "Water Salá".
