Alcantarilla is a municipality with more than 40,000 inhabitants that has endured an unbreathable and insane air for years.
The Clean Air Platform has been working for a long time, organizing rallies and demonstrations so that this municipality is able to breathe the air that its neighbors deserve.
This pestilential and unbearable air almost daily is due to the various chemical companies that are located less than 1 kilometer from Alcantarilla, a municipality with a high rate of respiratory diseases and also with many cases of cancer.
It is an open secret.
The direct relationship between the disease and the vapors emanating from these companies is known by all, but today oncologists in the area do not dare to put their signature on a document that corroborates this.
There are many demonstrations carried out to demand that chemical companies near the municipality comply with the regulations and requirements so that the air is not contaminated.
Today Thursday, January 31 the Platform, together with a handful of residents of this town and others nearby, as well as some representative of some political group of the municipality, in addition to Contigo Somos Democracia were concentrated in front of a company of those involved.
Until then a journalist and a cameraman of the program "In the crosshairs" of the four have approached.
They have explained the existing problem in the area.

What the people asked for there, is more implication on the part of the citizenship, since the air is breathed by all and of course, that the administrations no longer get sick and do something, because people are desperate and impotence is such which, makes them feel very frustrated.
They think that Alcantarilla lives up to its name.
With the discretion that characterizes us, without any protagonism, we have been present as any other neighbor, listening to the real protagonists who, are not others than, the neighbors who are suffering from the mismanagement of a municipality and suffering a true martyrdom.
From this training we make an appeal to the corresponding department and let them know that, companies of these characteristics can not be located so close to the population, much less in a seismic zone like this one, since the disaster in which it could derive would be very serious.
