The Town Hall of Alcantarilla and the union representatives of the municipal employees, both civil servants and labor, have agreed on measures to improve the working conditions of the personnel dependent on the local administration of Sewer.
"This agreement is the result of work carried out responsibly by both parties with the common goal of recovering working conditions that after long years of crisis were lost with undesirable measures by any of the parties," said the councilor for Finance and Human Resources, Raquel de la Paz Ortiz.
For the councilor, de la Paz Ortiz, "this agreement includes measures that have a high social component, focusing mainly on improving the situation of public employees who are in a situation of temporary disability, ensuring in these cases the perception of 100% of the remuneration, as well as of those workers who retire or have disabled family members ".
Likewise, it has been agreed to carry out a reduction of the working day during Holy Week, May Festivities, Summer and Christmas, as a preliminary step to a future in which the implementation of the 35-hour workweek is possible.
In this sense, both the Sewer Council and the union representatives of municipal employees have shown their willingness to continue working and making efforts to continue on this path to improve municipal working conditions.
