More and more young people can not afford the exorbitant prices that the New Year's Eve tickets reach (up to € 70-80) or they can not travel to Murcia and consequently they can not enjoy parties with friends.

With this in mind, some young people from Alcantarilla are spreading a campaign to collect signatures asking the City Council to install a covered tent on New Year's Eve to protect them from the cold, with music and bars of the Sewer hoteliers, as well as spaces for the sale of food, as they do in other municipalities of the Region on that night or as has already been done in Sewer for the Brujofest.

The advantages of this proposal are obvious: it increases the leisure offer in the municipality, even attracting young people from nearby districts;

avoid our young people traveling on dates with the risk of accidents;

creates business opportunities for the innkeepers of the municipality, increasing employment.

This has been understood by the more than 1,600 residents who have so far signed the petition to make this initiative a reality.

What young people did not imagine is that their proposal reach the Plenary Session of the City Council as a motion, presented by Podemos Alcantarilla.

"Since we can Sewer we have always defended that the variety of leisure in the municipality is extended, especially for the youth, reason why we have supported the vindication of these young people, but all the merit is his", has declared Arcadio Martinez, councilman of We can Sewer.

One of the young promoters has spoken during the Plenary to defend the proposal and has asked the councilors "do not fail us, here there is a lot of willingness to do things, but when we young people propose something we are not".

The motion has been approved despite the abstention of PP and Cs.
