This program, which celebrates its eleventh edition, aims to disseminate the activities and calls for youth and detect the demands of young people
The program "Corresponsales juveniles" extends this course to coverage and reaches 77 educational centers in 36 municipalities.
The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, today presented the eleventh edition of this program in Alcantarilla, in the IES Alcántara, together with the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, the general director of Youth, Francisco Sánchez and the Director of the IES Alcántara, Ginés Ruiz, together with the Councilors of Youth, Antonio Martínez Griñán and Education, Juan Manuel Gómez.
In the last edition this program was developed in 64 centers and 162 young people participated, which means that this year the accession increases by 16.8 percent.
The counselor stressed the importance of this increase and noted that these figures may increase because the call remains open.
Martínez-Cachá explained that it aims to "inform and disseminate calls, resources and activities that may interest young people, as well as detect, collect and transmit their needs and demands."
The program begins this month with the campaign of recruitment of volunteers "Se Busca Corresponsal", the selection of correspondents is done in a coordinated way between the educational center, with a tutor, and the municipal information service.
The young volunteers will be responsible for informing and disseminating the social, economic and cultural resources that are available in the field of Youth in the Community, as well as collecting the concerns and preferences of this group in the area in which they move.
The counselor stressed that this initiative "reinforces the importance of information and counseling services, based on interpersonal communication among young people."
On the other hand, the period of enrollment, participation or renewal of the program for this school year remains open.
To be a youth correspondent, you must be enrolled in one of the centers participating in the program.
In addition, we must have availability to devote sufficient time to the development of this work, which consists of collecting the information provided weekly and attend courses, workshops, training exchanges and meetings and coordination meetings.
Likewise, the correspondent must show communication skills.
Those interested can register at their school or at the Informajoven offices in their municipality.
This program, Martínez-Cachá added, "improves the decision-making and participation capacity of young people, while promoting a more agile, close and effective way so that the information they are interested in reaches through other young people."
And, he added, "we promote education in values, the equality of all young people, reside where they reside, as well as citizen participation of volunteer students and their involvement in the development of the Region."
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, thanked the Regional Government presented in Sewer this important program of "Youth Correspondents" and congratulated the work that for two years has been doing the IES Alcántara, repeating for the third year and with the same team.
Valuing the joining of two new educational centers, the IES Francisco Salzillo and the Teaching Center Samaniego and I will encourage that in the very near future the other two centers will be added and that all our centers will participate in this program. "
At the event, together with the students participating in the "Youth Correspondents" program of the IES Alcántara, the representatives of the IES Salzillo and the CES Samaniego were also present.
