In the morning of today, a group of people, headed by the mayor, Joaquín Buendía, together with members of the Municipal Corporation and various representatives of collectives and groups, gathered at the doors of the Alcantarilla Town Hall, in the Plaza de San Pedro. local associations, to demonstrate against the social scourge that gender violence supposes, all this fulfilling the wishes of the last plenary session, when verifying the high number of women killed during the month of September, the spokespersons of the municipal groups agreeing make a manifesto of rejection and this concentration on today.
After giving account of it the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, the group of people who met, the councilor of Social Welfare and Health, Francisca Terol, read the Manifesto, which indicated that "Once again, it is necessary to demonstrate against the social scourge of Gender Violence Unfortunately this September has been especially dramatic, in which 11 women have been murdered, 2 of them girls, and since the beginning of the year there are already 39 women murdered. "
"La Violencia Maquia is not a private matter, it is a social problem that is fought with ZERO TOLERANCE in the face of abuse and any macho behavior." The Municipal Corporation together with the active society and the general population of the municipality of Alcantarilla, manifests its Repulses for these murders and expresses its commitment in the fight and eradication of this scourge.We appeal to the responsibility of each and every citizen, not to look the other way and denounce the cases of our environment.
