The award ceremony was chaired by the Chief Colonel of the Alcantarilla Air Base, Mr. Francisco Javier Fernández and by the Mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, who were accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Juan Manuel Gómez.
The Town Hall of Sewer, through the Department of Education, launched, in 2016, the contest "October 12, the Feast of my Country", as an activity of schools complementary to the celebration of the Day of the National holiday.
Participate in it the students of 5th grade of Primary of all Sewer colleges, through the preparation of work related to the celebration of the festival on October 12 that yesterday were exposed to the entrance of the auditorium of the Francisco Institute Salzillo and tomorrow will be in Adolfo Suarez Square, in the vicinity of where we celebrate the act of raising Flag and Civilian Jury.
Yesterday the act of awarding diplomas to the students participating in this edition took place in the assembly hall of the Francisco Salzillo Institute.
640 were the students who came to the event from the schools: Campoamor, Vistabella, Las Tejeras, San José Obrero, Ntra. Sra. De la Asunción, Ntra. Sra. De la Salud, Jacinto Benavente, Jara Carrillo, Eusebio Martínez, Sacred Heart and Samaniego.
After the words of the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía and those of the chief colonel of the Alcantarilla Air Base, Francisco Javier Fernández, welcoming them and thanking them for the work and interest shown, both by the teachers and by the students, in participating one more year in this Exhibition of Plastic Expression.
During the event, they were able to watch three videos about the activity of the Sewer Aerial Base and the different units that make it up, of the Military Parachute School "Méndez Parada", on its 70th anniversary of the first parachutist jump and making known the work that the different units carry out within the Air Base, as well as another one in relation to the capacities that for the military operations have the components of the EZAPAC, the Parachute Sappers Squadron of the Air Force and finally, some special images of all the events in which PAPEA, Paratrooper Acrobatic Patrol of the Air Force has developed throughout this last year, in addition to receiving an explanation from the Chief Colonel of the Air Base about the images that they were going to see as well as the operation of the Base Aerial Sewer.
Finally there was the delivery of diplomas to the participating centers in recognition of the great work that students, teachers and educational centers have done so that this third edition of the contest "October 12, the Feast of my Country" has been, again, a success .
The works will be exhibited in the Adolfo Suárez square next Sunday, October 7 in the morning in celebration of the Day of the National Holiday and Tribute to the Flag.
From the Town Hall of Sewer we transferred to all the educational centers our gratitude for their collaboration and participation in this edition of the contest and we encourage them that next year, in the IV edition, participate with the same enthusiasm and enthusiasm.
