The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities earmarked this year 84,212 euros to the Sewer Care Center, which serves 80 children up to six years with development problems or risk of suffering them.
Of this amount, 40,000 euros correspond to a recent budget increase by the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) based on the hours of treatment and the number of children served.
The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, along with the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, visited the center today and stressed that "the Ministry provides early care service to 4,028 children with problems in their development or risk of suffering them" .
The Community is preparing a decree for the development of this service to which 101 allegations from professionals, associations of parents, federations of persons with disabilities, Committee of People with Disabilities of the Region of Murcia and Federation of Municipalities have been incorporated.
The text responds to the needs of society regarding the regulation of early care, ensures equity in the funding of municipalities, which will go from receiving the amount through subsidies to do so by contract, so that it will be paid for each child I received it.
"The councils will see, in the vast majority of cases, an increase in the budget to finance this service," said the counselor.
When the norm comes into force, no family will have to pay for this service, as it currently happens in some centers, one of the demands of federations of associations of fathers and mothers.
In addition, the new decree will provide greater security and financial stability to families and entities that provide the service.
By being recognized as a universal right, families will have legal security and the ability to claim what belongs to them.
The Early Attention service is fundamental for the later development of the child that presents alterations in its development, since it is carried out when there is a greater plasticity of the central nervous system.
It is offered in nursery schools, centers for early intervention and homes, and has a great agility in terms of assessment.
After the agreed diagnosis of the minor, the case is referred to the appropriate department, in order to begin the treatment as soon as possible.
