This morning the mayor of Alcantarilla, has met with the representatives of Desarrollos Chuys SL, to sign the agreement of cession of the illuminated sign that presided over the entrance of the legendary Discoteca "Super Chuy's" in the avenue of Murcia, in front of the Florentino district Gomez
The Board of Local Government agreed at a meeting held on June 13 to accept the indefinite assignment offered by Desarrollos Chuys of the aforementioned sign.
The disco opened its doors in 1975 and, at the beginning of the 90s, a reform was made and a new part was added to the discotheque that had a waterfall and wide spaces.
For her, the most important artists of the national scene have passed as Mecano, who had to perform two sessions in the same afternoon, Rocío Durcal, Lola Flores, Alejandro Sanz as well as comedians of the stature of Chiquito de la Calzada.
There have also been many elections and coronations of Children and Senior Queens of our May holidays, New Year's Eve and festivals, which have been held in the facilities of this club that became a benchmark regionally and in the Mediterranean area, taking even regular customers who came to their facilities from Castellón every weekend.
It closed its doors in 2012, giving way to an urban transformation of the area in which there is now a new store of the Mercadona chain within the Special Plan "Avenida de Murcia".
From the Alcantarilla City Council we thank the offer and disposition of Desarrollos Chuys SL and, after several months of negotiations, the illuminated sign, which so many nights was on seeing how hundreds of young people from at least two generations of Alcantarilla and many other populations entered , will once again be visible as a tribute, more than deserved, to the Discoteca "Super Chuys" that made the name of our town famous, in an area that will always be remembered as "la de la super".
