The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, received at noon today at City Hall, the new national president of the Association Victims of Terrorism (AVT), Maite Araluce, along with the Association's advisor, Miguel Folguera and the delegate of the AVT in Murcia, the Remedios Miñano sewer, accompanied by her husband and also a member of this Association, Antonio Martínez Griñán, Councilor for Sports and Youth, in our City Hall.
In this meeting, the AVT has transferred to Buendía all the concerns regarding the victims of the Region of Murcia, being especially interested in those of our municipality, transferring some of the various proposals presented, a few hours before, to the president of the regional government, Fernando López Miras, with whom they also met at the Palacio de San Esteban, always important issues especially for the welfare of this group.
The president of the AVT, Maite Araluce since May 5 presiding over the same, the importance that victims need at the regional level to receive a comprehensive and specific psychological assistance in the short, medium and long term, the Association expressing the intention of develop the Testimonies Project in the Region to give a voice to the victims of Murcian terrorism and also to the sewers that are part of it.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, has transferred the support of our municipality to all those acts or actions that are carried as a tribute to the victims of terrorism to keep alive the memory and memory, as they have been developing in the last two years, with the commemoration on March 11, of the European Day of the Victims of Terrorism and where our delegate lives.
In the meeting with the Mayor, which took place in a climate of good disposition on both sides, the possibility of holding an event in memory of the victims of terrorism in the near future has been agreed upon.
