Fulfilling the invitation made by the president of the Local Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer Sewer, Pedro Hernández, both the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, as the chief colonel of the Sewer Air Base, Francisco Javier Fernández, a visit the regional headquarters of the Association in Murcia, today has been carried out the same, being received by the president and vice president of the Executive Board of the Provincial Board, Agustín Navarrete and Manuel Molina, along with other members of the management team both regional and of Sewer.
There they have been able to verify the facilities of the provincial headquarters of the AECC Murcia, as well as the important work that day to day develops this non-profit organization formed by patients, relatives, volunteers, collaborators and professionals, not only in our region , but throughout Spain.
With the mission to work together to educate in health, support and accompany sick people and their families, and fund research projects that allow a better diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
They learned of the increase in psychosocial personnel that the AECC has made for 2018 and that, thanks to the solidarity of the people of Murcia, they continue to improve it and expand the services they provide throughout the region, achieving comprehensive coverage of cancer patients and their families.
Both the mayor of Alcantarilla, as the colonel of the Air Base, could know the dependencies and the magnificent work they carry out in social care, psychological support, medical guidance, accompaniment, physiotherapy and speech therapy, as well as free courses and workshops throughout the year they are developing.
During the visit, they had the opportunity to check the work of the professionals in situ to prevent and detect this terrible disease, which takes huge steps in the patients, thanks to the preventions that are made and where the AECC finds the open doors of these facilities that from the next to the different professionals.
Buendía thanked the attentions received by all the regional management team of the AECC and the interest shown by the president of the Local Sewer Board, Pedro Hernández, in that they could know the provincial headquarters, the work they have been developing since the 80s in Murcia and to be eyewitnesses with the professionals, of the services that are provided.
All of this, -as Pedro Hernández indicated-, so that they understand the work that they have in each of the populations of our region to keep this volunteer alive and to continue betting on the Spanish Association Against Cancer on the road traveled and above all , in what still remains for the benefit of patients and their families.
