The Committee on Industry, Labor, Trade and Tourism of the Regional Assembly has unanimously approved a Citizens initiative for the Sewer Holy Week to be declared of National Tourist Interest.
Miguel Sanchez, regional spokesman for Ciudadanos recalled that the Holy Week Sewer dates back to the sixteenth century, making it the oldest celebration of the town and the most prestigious.
"This is a widely known event that attracts people from all over the Region, and even from other Autonomous Communities, in which residents of the Sewer and neighboring municipalities participate, who collaborate selflessly to organize a celebration that increasingly has more greatness".
The roots of this celebration are undoubted.
Currently has 12 brotherhoods and brotherhoods grouped in the Board of Pastoral Brotherhoods Sewer, which is that everything is ready for their images to go out in procession, touring the city and delighting the thousands of citizens who come to the street to witness a beautiful show, while exciting.
The central event is the procession of the Holy Burial, which is celebrated on Good Friday, the oldest, starring the Reclining Christ of José Planes, national prize for sculpture, although the processions of Holy Thursday of Our Father Jesus Nazareno are also noteworthy. for its high participation, that of Holy Wednesday, with the Christ of the Good Death and of Resurrection Sunday, which is more festive and colorful.
