On the eve of World Environment Day, the second prize of the Story Contest on Sustainable Use of Water, organized by Hidrogea, has been celebrated today at Alcantarilla, which is already celebrating its fourth edition in the Region of Murcia.
The award-winner was Carla Salinas Gómez, a student from the town, from CES Samaniego.
The delivery was taken in the center of the student, in the CES Samaniego, in an act chaired by the manager of the area of ​​Hidrogea, Inmaculada Serrano, along with the councilors of the City Sewer Public Safety, Works and Services, Juan Antonio Mata, Finance and Human Resources, Raquel de la Paz, as well as the director of CES Samaniego and president of the Cooperativa de Enseñanza, Concepción Carrillo, together with María Ángeles del Cerro, a biology teacher who coordinated the work of the students.
Carla Salinas was also accompanied by her classmates and teachers, in the delivery of this prize consisting of an Ipad Mini and a batch of books for this well-deserved second place for a story entitled "El Agua, Fuente de Riqueza", which she read in one of the moments of the act.
Eighty-three have been the participants that have been submitted to the IV Contest, with more than fifty students in the Sewer, almost all of them from the CES Samaniego, being the reason for holding this second prize in the Center itself and with the students They have participated.
For the Councilor for Services, Juan Antonio Mata, "the interest shown by our young Sewer students in being present in each of the contests in which to transfer their young spirit, their ideas, about the future of our society, actively participating and , if we talk about the environment much more, giving value to their ideas, captured in these winning stories, they make us think that we are facing some students who want to be present in all those forums to which they are summoned. of our City Council to the student Carla Salinas and to the Teaching Center itself, which actively participates in campaigns of this type and of any others that may be of interest to its students, in this fourth edition Alcantarilla has broken record of participation in this contest and happy, as we were happy in the second edition, when two students of the Alcántara Institute achieved two of the three prizes at stake "
For its part, Inmaculada Serrano, area manager of Hidrogea, concluded the event by highlighting the importance of environmental education from an early age to ensure that future generations, such as young people in the municipality of Sewer, which in a few years will replace the current managers and opinion leaders, "carry in your DNA a model of Sustainable Development".
He also added: "Educating in respect for the environment is essential if we want to ensure the wellbeing of the next generations, therefore, in Hidrogea we launch several activities such as this one, aimed at students in schools and institutes. IES Samaniego is an example that, fortunately, there are many young people involved in the sustainable use of water ".
On March 22, World Water Day, Hidrogea made public the winners of this IV Contest of "Intelligent Water Stories", which brings them together in order to contribute to the awareness of the importance of water, through literature .
The participants were young ESO students in the educational centers of all the municipalities where the company manages the complete water cycle: Abanilla, Águilas, Alcantarilla, Beniel, Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, Jumilla, Lorca, San Javier, Torre Pacheco and The Torres de Cotillas.
The jury composed of people linked to literary creation, journalism and related to the field of water, with Cartagena writer Carlos Dosel and Eva Franco, Law degree, spending most of his professional career as a writer at La Opinion and La Truth, being currently Responsible for Communication and Strategy of Clients in Hidrogea, decided that the prizes were for the following students:
