The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities finances with 3,367 euros from the funds of the X Solidaria del IRPF two programs that the Cooperative for Community Development (Copedeco) develops in Alcantarilla, one for the social insertion of immigrant women and another that promotes the welfare of vulnerable young people.
This cooperative addresses the management of socio-educational and psychosocial work programs with children and young people, from a preventive approach to situations of risk of social exclusion.
Thus, accompaniment is offered in processes of social normalization and in activities of sociocultural animation and free time.
A team of professionals, social educators, psychologists, teachers and workshop monitors develop daily with them a set of actions aimed at insertion.
The counselor Violente Tomás, along with the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, and the president of Copedeco, María Jiménez, visited the project of this cooperative today, where she indicated that "the main objective is the intervention with minors of 14 to 18 years in risk, so they do not continue with antisocial behavior. "
Regarding the program for immigrant women, she said that "it highlights the double discrimination to which they are subjected, as a woman and as an immigrant.
That is why we want to carry out specific actions to facilitate their integration ".
Copedeco is a cooperative of associated work, integrated in Ucomur and in the Network of Fight against the Poverty and the Social Exclusion, and that develops projects directed to families, childhood, majors, woman and young people.
The Community also financed last year the cooperative with 18,300 euros within the granting of grants to entities of the third sector of social action, for the development of actions in the fight against poverty in the Region of Murcia.
