The Government delegate co-chairs the Local Security Board Raceway (21/09/2009)

The Government of Spain invests 58,000 euros in the rehabilitation of barracks and 15,000 in improvements to the premises of the Police Station

The Deputy Mayor proposed the signing of a cooperation agreement on security between Security Forces and the State and Local Police

The government delegate in Murcia has co-chaired this morning the Local Security Board of Sewer, with the mayor of the town, Lazaro Mellado to analyze different aspects of public safety in the municipality.

González Tovar has reiterated its confidence in the role of this body to improve the coordination of the actions of the National Police and Civil Guard and the local police of the municipalities in our region.

With regard to the provision of the Civil Guard in Jumilla, is very much appreciated the efforts of the Government of Spain to increase troop.

Today the barracks has 41 officers, 156 percent more than in 2004 which had a total of 16 civil guards.

As for the National Police, has also produced an increase of 16 percent over the same period, with a total of 58 troops.

With regard to investment in infrastructure, González Tovar has highlighted the provision of 58,000 euros provided by the Ministry of Interior under the Plan E for the rehabilitation of government offices and halls of the Civil Guard barracks.

In addition, nearly 15,000 euros have been earmarked for construction of reforms in various offices of the National Police Station.

During the local board, we have studied the current security situation of the municipality, as well as ways to further enhance the collaboration between the Guardia Civil and Local Police.

In this sense, the delegate said that the good work and the significant increase in the staffing of the Civil Guard is producing substantial improvements in the 27 percent decrease in crime in 2008 compared to 2009 and 5 per cent failures .

He stressed that where there was greater reduction has been in property crimes, where the decline was from 35.4 percent in the last year.

Collaboration Agreement with the Ministry of Interior

González Tovar proposed Sewer Mayor signed a partnership agreement on security in order to strengthen collaboration between local police and the Forces of State Security.

This would entail the development of the Local Safety Plan, which includes joint action programs and planned, a protocol for assistance in automated information or installation of a shared technical operations.

The Government delegate pointed out that this type of agreement has been signed by some municipalities in the region and its extension to other "is a target because we will improve service delivery, optimize resources and progress in improving of public safety. "
