Agriculture invests 3 million euros to extend the Sewer treatment plant with the latest technologies (16/07/2008)

The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, today presented the draft Sewer installation of tertiary treatment in the sewage of the town, which incorporates the latest technologies in water treatment.

The budget for implementing the expansion of the plant amounts to 3.2 million euros and the deadline for execution of works is 12 months.

Responsible for Agriculture presented the mayor of the municipality, Lazarus Mellado, the expansion project of the new plant will get about 13,000 cubic meters of water per day, with maximum quality and suitable for agricultural reuse.

In this regard, the Minister said "the regional government's effort to that 97 percent of Murcia is connected to a modern and effective sewage, as presented today."

He emphasized that the Sanitation and Treatment Plan of the Government of Murcia, "has followed the California model," and added, "was designed with most advanced technical criteria established by the Community legislation and is now beginning to be implemented in other regions, therefore, concluded "the Region of Murcia is a national reference in water purification."

The works presented this morning include, among other things, a regulating reservoir capacity 2,000 cubic meters, pumping water from the reservoir tertiary treatment to control the mixing chamber and coagulation, 2 lamellar clarifiers with sludge collection and pumping , filtration backwash water and air, and disinfection of the effluent with UV rays.
