Sewer faces its festivities with a drop in crime of 18% in the first four months of 2015 (06/05/2015)

Twenty agents CNP UPR and strengthen means of National Police and Local Police existing

The Government delegate, Joaquin Bascuñana, and the mayor of Sewell, Lazarus Mellado, presided this morning the Local Security Board of the municipality to prepare the safety device on the occasion of the festivities to be held between 8 and 17 May.

The National Police reinforced with twenty troops and UPR (Prevention and Response Unit) the existing common device in Sewell to ensure public safety during the whole period of the holidays.

"These troops will join the existing National Police in Sewell and own staff of the local police, so that during the two weekends of festivities, there will be about sixty troops from both bodies to ensure safety, as well reinforcements that can be sent with immediacy if necessary, "said Bascuñana.

In addition to preparing the above mentioned safety device, those attending the Local Board have reviewed crime figures that the delegate considered very positive.

During the first quarter of 2015 there has been a decrease in breaches of 5.58% over the same period of 2014. In those qualified as a crime, the fall reaches 17.95%, and in them are included with thefts force, which fell by 38.30%.

In addition, crimes and offenses of theft fell by 46.15%.

The mayor thanked the cooperation and willingness of the Government Office to achieve "we have a festival in peace," he said.
