Final Contest ECOEMBES in Sewell (31/01/2014)

The goal is to educate future consumers in the convenience of separating waste at source, proper use of containers and different possibilities of reusing materials.

This year the works were to create songs about waste separation and, either the originals or using the music of popular songs recycling.

In the final stage they have reached 5 teams from four schools, as each center could qualify for a maximum of two teams.

Among the papers presented were a variety of styles, although the more it was used rap.

The order of proceedings was made by drawing lots.

The jury was composed by José Navarro, Director of Radio Tuning, Jesus Pacheco and Ruth Lopez, teachers of the Municipal School of Music, Maria Ernestina Bergallo also music teacher and member of the Coral Kantara and singer Maribel Castillo.

Time began the proceedings with the Campoamor CEIP team that defended the song "In the Campoamor cole and recycle."

The group was composed of 10 school girls and boys.

Then the team acted CEIP San Jose Artesano, with a total of 6 students, also between boys and girls.

He defended the theme "If we recycle, we all win."

This work had the originality that was sung a cappella and with accompaniment only one box.

Thirdly made ​​his appearance on stage CEIP team Jacinto Benavente, also mixed with 8 school, who sang "The rap recycling"

The last two performances were for both teams CEIP Our Lady of Health, both with 5 members, one for girls and another for boys.

The first was the singing of the girls, who defended the theme "Recycle", the latter being in part the group of boys with the song "We must recycle"

After seeing all the proceedings, the jury retired to deliberate and issued the following ruling:

First and winner of the competition, the team of guys CEIP Our Lady of Health with the song "We must recycle" the group of Campoamor and third CEIP San José Obrero being second.

As mentioned at the beginning of the contest, the awards would not be problem, since each child of the winning teams would take the same award, as this was the decision taken by the Councillor for the Environment, Juan José Gómez Hellin and the company ECOEMBES, which is providing the funds to pay the premiums.

The award consists of a tablet.

Meanwhile, all students of the teams ranked fourth and fifth prize is also a good lead, since each of them will receive an MP4 device.

Finally, there was again the performance of the winning team, which was much applauded.

Closed the ceremony Councillor for the Environment, who thanked the students and teachers the effort and had successfully completed a pioneering initiative.

Confirmed its commitment to continue in the coming years expecting schools to transmit to society the values ​​of respect for our environment and take a collaborative approach that allows us to improve our quality of life.

To give culmination of the morning, invited our countrywoman Maribel Castillo to delight us with one of his songs, something that was not in the script and that simpatiquísima singer accepted and allowed us a glimpse of his great artistic and human qualities that was received with a thunderous applause from all in attendance.
