Valcárcel praises regeneration of urban space and development opportunities associated with the project 'Sewer grows green' (30/04/2013)

Emphasizes "the importance for school sports' facilities such as sports pavilion Samaniego Education Center, whose official opening has also chaired the regional chief executive

The president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, today praised "the important regeneration urban space that represents the project 'Sewer grows green' as well as the great development potential associated with it" in the business, cultural, economic or tourism and others.

Valcárcel opened various offices located in the three new centers that integrate this performance criteria based on town planning, environmental and economic development, located in the resort of Salah Water.

During his visit to the town was accompanied by the Mayor of Sewell, Lazarus Mellado, and counselors of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, and Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca.

The chief executive travel through the town ended with the inauguration of a sports hall in the Center for Teaching Samaniego.

The 'Sewer grows green' was born six years ago with different objectives: removing physical barriers that separate the city, rehabilitation and improvement of urban space, increasing citizen participation, reducing the risk of social exclusion among groups disadvantaged or development of the area from the historical-cultural areas, natural, economic and tourism, with its positive impact on job creation.

This initiative has had a budget of over 4.5 million, 80 percent financed with ERDF funds for the period 2007-2013, and the remaining 20 percent by the City Council.

The area rehabilitated in this project encompasses the historic complex formed by the Ethnological Museum of the Huerta, the Arcos aqueduct and Noria and 40,000 m2 of land in public ownership, and the natural setting Salah Water.

The actions foreseen in 'Sewer grows green' pursue four main objectives: the rehabilitation of the physical environment of the Ethnological Museum of the Huerta, and the construction of three new areas: the Center for Integrated Economic and Technological Development, the Office of Tourism and Hall of Nature, and the Centre for Citizen Participation.

The new Integrated Center for Economic and Technological houses the Local Development Agency for the promotion of employment.

The 'Sewer grows green' is completed by a new Centre for Citizen Participation whose offices also host a Multicultural Library and Youth Participation Center.

The Center for Education unveils sports Samaniego

After the visit to the set of new municipal facilities, President Valcárcel moved Samaniego Education Center, where she opened the new sports pavilion 'Pedro Agustín Pérez Guirao'.

This new sports infrastructure, with 300 seats, has a total floor area of ​​1,657 square meters and has a center court prepared to practice different sports.

The facility will be used during school hours by students Samaniego Education Center in cycles and Primary Education, and outside these times may meet the demands of Sewer clubs.

President Valcárcel stressed "the importance to the school and grassroots sport has the count as modern and versatile facilities, the use of which may also benefit other citizens to practice an activity as necessary for the health and well being as in the sport. "
