"The debt of the Town Hall of Sewer with the suppliers multiplies by six" (23/02/2018)

Once again, the Ayuntamiento de Alcantarilla increases its debt with suppliers.

In the first quarter of 2016, more than € 400,000 of debt with suppliers accumulated, and a year later it had grown to one and a half million.

Today, the debt with suppliers reaches € 2,300,000.

This means that the mayor Joaquín Buendía (PP) has multiplied by six the debt of the City Council with its suppliers.

The situation is hard for suppliers, because, in addition to the increasing amounts that the City owes them, they are almost € 1,100,000 paid outside the legal term, which leaves them in a defenseless situation that threatens ruin.

In addition, in September 2015, the mayor Joaquín Buendía (PP) assured that they would publish all the invoices in the Transparency Portal of the City Council.

However, a single invoice has not been published to date.

A year ago, Podemos Alcantarilla denounced that the PP was ruining the suppliers of the Sewer City Council.

"The disastrous management of Joaquín Buendía is aggravated because now he also only tries to escape his imputation by paying public money for years to a company without a contract," said Arcadio Martínez (Podemos).

Podemos has proposed to comply with the Transparency Law and publish invoices, as well as develop a plan to address the payment to suppliers that prioritizes SMEs and self-employed.
