Alcantarilla celebrated its great Carnival parade this Sunday, with the "Music" as theme (11/02/2018)

The 2018 Carnival in Alcantarilla was held on Sunday morning with a brilliant grand parade, where the comparsas and groups that toured our Calle Mayor, did it in this edition under the theme, "La Música", being taken into account by the jury, especially in the adaptation of the costumes to the chosen theme, as well as choreography, originality or coordination.

The parade itself began at eleven o'clock in the morning from Calle Término, as usual, to the Plaza de San Pedro, where the prizes established by the Town Hall of Alcantarilla were delivered.

The two FIRST PRIZES were for the COMPARSA LOCAL with € 600, which the jury awarded to the comparsa "MARACANÁ", from Alcantarilla, which based it on rock music, with original costumes, tremendously elaborated, while that of the COMPARSA VISITANTE € 600 was for the comparsa "TAMBA TAYA", from Mula.

The SECOND PRIZE provided with € 300 for the comparsa "NUEVO ENCANTO", of Mula and THIRD PRIZE endowed with € 200, went to the Comparsa "GUAKARÁ" of Sangonera la Verde (Murcia).

The three QUARTERS AWARDS, endowed with 100 euros and a lot of HERO Spain products, were for the comparsas: "CARMEN ROMERO" of Alcantarilla, "DANZA CARMEN BERNAL" of Sewer and "KISSAMBA" of Mula.

While the three following prizes, endowed both with batches of Hero España products, were for the comparsas "IGUAZÚ" of Alcantarilla, "SAMANÁ" of Mula and "YEMANYÁ", of Javalí Viejo (Murcia).

The jury of this edition will be composed, as president by María Luisa Martínez León, Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Celebrations of the Alcantarilla City Council, accompanied by Raúl Martínez García, manager of the Sardinera Association of Murcia, the Murcian singer Salva Ortega, the model of photography and flamenco and classical dancer, Coral María Muñoz Ruiz, Carmen Manzanera, news director Radio Sintonía, as secretary Juan Antonio Martínez López, head of the Culture, Tourism and Celebrations Department.

In the same is expected the participation of 21 comparsas, 7 of them local and the rest of other towns such as Murcia, along with its districts Javalí Viejo, Sangonera la Seca, Sangonera la Verde, El Palmar, Bacons Bridge and Aljucer, as well as the municipalities of Cartagena, Mula and Archena, with a participation that will surpass the eight hundred in these comparsas, next to other people who individually join it.
