Alzheimer's: A great family, social and scientific-sanitary challenge for the 21st century begins in Alcantarilla (04/04/2017)

This morning, with the assistance of the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Social Welfare, Health and Consumption, Francisca Terol, Vice-rector of Students, Quality and Equality of the University of Murcia, Carmen Ferrándiz García and the president of AFADE Alcantarilla , Julia Fernández Sánchez, have been inaugurated the training days "Alzheimer: A great family, social and scientific-health challenge for the XXI Century," which the Association of Relatives and Patients Alzheimer's Sewer "(AFADE-Alcantarilla), which Will be held on 4, 5 and 6 April next.

These days, which are held each year, will be held in the auditorium of the AFADE-Alcantarilla Day Care Center, in Calle Carmen, 23 de Alcantarilla, carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering Of the University of Murcia, being addressed to students, relatives, volunteers and all those interested in knowing more about Alzheimer's disease.

In this edition, we intend to address the impact that this disease is generating in different areas, in addition to the great challenges that is already posing in our society.

Next we will have the opening speech "The new challenges in research on

Alzheimer's disease ", an expensive one by María Trinidad Herrero Izquierdo, professor of Human Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia and director of the Institute of Aging.

Already in the afternoon of tomorrow Tuesday, at 16:30 hours, will have the talk: "The importance of the donation: The Brains Bank of the Region of Murcia," to Pilar Vicente Navarro, a coach of Banco de Cerebros de The Region of Murcia and after a short break, at 17:50 will have the Talk: "The social care system in Alzheimer's disease Resources", by Francisca Munuera Giner, deputy director general of the IMAS.

To end the afternoon, at 18:40 hours with the Talk: "Alzheimer affects the brain of the patient and the heart of the family, its impact on the family system," by Maleni Gomez Díaz, PhD in Psychology in the UCAM.

On Wednesday, April 5, the first of the talks, at 16:30 hours, "The Sanitary System against Alzheimer's: Repercussions", by Juan Marín Muñoz, neurologist specializing in Neurology of behavior and dementias, in Unity Of Dementias of the Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca.

At 5:30 pm the talk will begin: "The legal protection of the patient, the Foundation Tutelar", by Mariano Olmo García, lawyer and technical director of the Foundation for Guardianship and Judicial Defense of Adults of the Region of Murcia and After the break, at 7:00 pm will have the talk: "Volunteering as a great support for care in Alzheimer's disease. The importance of awareness and awareness", by María José Carrillo Escobar, Social Projection Technician And Volunteering, at the University of Murcia.

On Thursday, April 6, at 4:00 p.m., we will have the talk: "How to identify Alzheimer's and its evolution: Neuropsychological, Functional and Physical-Motor Assessment techniques", by María Martirio Antequera Torres, neuropsychologist at Dementia Unit of the Virgen de la Arrixaca University Clinical Hospital.

Later, at 5:00 p.m., the charcha "Family associations as a single resource of support" will be given by Rubén Carrión Martín, a social worker from AFADE-Alcantarilla.

And after the break, at 18:20 hours, a Round Table and discussion with Relatives will begin, to finish at 19:15 hours with the Closing of the Conference and delivery of Certificates to the participants in the same.
