HIDROGEA and the City collaborate with the Social Dining Beata Piedad de la Cruz Sewer (07/09/2016)

This association collaborates daily with 215 families without resources and power also offers psychological services, hair dresser, closet and educational support for children.

The CEO of HIDROGEA, Javier Ybarra and Sewer Mayor Joaquín Buendía, this morning visited the canteen of the Blessed Association Piedad de la Cruz Sewer and participated in the distribution of food that this entity makes 215 families residents in the municipality.

Its president, Angel Alvarez, has delivered them a diploma, gratitude for the assistance provided.

HIDROGEA City Sewer and have always positioned very close to this work, with several economic collaborations in previous years and with the delivery of a van a few months to improve their daily logistics ago.

The distribution of food boxes every three weeks and includes non-perishable food, fruits and vegetables.

Of these families, half are Spanish and the other half foreigners of different nationalities;

South American, South African, Moroccan and Eastern European countries, mainly.

After five years of operation of food distribution, the Association found that many homeless people came, they did not have room for cooking and they created the soup kitchen.

A daily service that serves about 35 people who also delivered food for them to dinner and breakfast.

During this August they have continued maintaining the same level of services, so that the 40 volunteers working in the association, have had to double shifts to cover the holidays.

The Fraternal Association and Beata Piedad de la Cruz, has been in recent months to improve its facilities in order to offer complementary services.

In addition to food, people in need can access a weekly hair salon, psychological cabinet, have collected clothing and footwear distributed according to need and shower facilities for personal hygiene.

Township children in need also have a service of snacks and school support classes.
