The storm tank pumping station Sewer prevent overflows in the sewerage (05/04/2016)

The system implemented serves a population of about 45,000 people

The CEO Water, Andres Martinez, said today that the storm tank that has built the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment in the pumping station wastewater (Ebara) of 'The Black Voice' "avoid overruns on the Sewer sewerage network. "

Water responsible for infrastructure visited, upon completion of the works, which had a budget of 554,000 euros, financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.

The system implemented serves a population of about 45,000 people.

The station receives, via two collectors, wastewater from the town Sewer and sewerage West industrial estate.

Both the previous pumping well as the sewage pumping lack spillway, which complicates the maintenance of the equipment.

Also, the dimensions of both pump shafts make regulation capacity is virtually nonexistent, so they are unable to absorb the flow peaks occurring.

The performances are equipped with a tank of regulation, as well as another series of elements and ancillary infrastructure 'Black Voice', which improve the margin of safety against breakdowns and unforeseen and prevent overflows in the sewage works.

The solution adopted for laminar peak flows consisted of the construction of a regulation tank reinforced concrete, 1,750 cubic meters of capacity, pumping well attached to the main drive, connected thereto and controlled by a gate.

To improve the degree of security against breakdowns and allow the repair or maintenance can be performed with fewer restrictions they have also carried out other actions, such as the construction of a new well before pumping, armed and equipped concrete equipment necessary for allow pumping equipment can be drawn from the current well and placed in the new well.

They have also built two bypass chambers, one for each inlet manifold on the ground, intercepting the same and allow the flow to derive new well before pumping.

This has been installed two murals gates.

It has also built a new house for accommodating new switchboards and a small warehouse.

The ensemble is completed with the development works of the plot, including a small network of collecting rainwater.

It has also made the demolition of an old house so that was located on the site of the new deposit, as the ruins of a primitive pumping station that was next to the old entrance to the plant.

To provide power to the new equipment has been expanded and adapted the existing electrical installation, and has articulated a new control system of greater capacity than the current one, which integrates all plant equipment and communication Sewer treatment plant.

These actions are included in the Plan II drainage and treatment of the Region of Murcia, whose main objective is to integrate into the system of sanitation and treatment to all agglomerations of the region and improve the quality of water bodies and optimize its use with reuse, once debugged.
