More than 100 people are participating this year in the campaign to collect garbage and abandoned objects 'Proyecto Libera', which is being developed in the areas of Cabezo Verde, the Agua Sal area and the area of ??Las Tejeras until the next Sunday. It is an initiative of the Alcantarilla City Council in collaboration with Ecoembes and the Spanish Ornithology Society (SEO Birdlife), to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of keeping the municipality's natural landscapes clean, through s of the organization of groups for the collection and cataloging of garbage. The mayor, Joaqu n Buend a, today visited the Cabezo Verde area, where a group of teachers and students from the Eusebio Mart nez Special Education College participates in the collection, and stressed that “despite the restrictions to which we are obliged this year due to the pandemic, we have not wanted to miss the opportunity to participate in a project that, in addition to cleaning natural areas, serves to raise awareness among residents of the importance of maintaining them.

" Registration is still open and to participate it is necessary to send an email to alcantarillarecicla@ayto-alcantarilla.es indicating the name, surname, ID and telephone number of each participant. Last year 200 people participated in the five garbage collections that were carried out in Alcantarilla.

This year, due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, it has been necessary to restrict the groups and adapt the activity to the new hygiene-sanitary safety regulations.
