This was announced today by the Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, at the signing of the protocol of adhesion of Alcantarilla to the Integral System of Spanish Tourism Quality in Destinations (Sicted), where she indicated that "the heritage legacy of the city of Alcantarilla , linked to the orchard and water, becomes a tourist attraction that with this investment that we make from the regional government, will considerably improve the interest for the visitor ". He also explained that this program uses a unified, clear and useful signage to achieve an orderly tourist space and that the visitor can enjoy the municipality with truthful information and attractive content.

And in this case, he pointed out, "Alcantarilla joins the Sicted destinations of the Region of Murcia to contribute to an improvement in all the services offered to visitors." The signing of this protocol supposes a firm commitment of the regional government and the town councils of the Region with the tourist quality.

With the incorporation of Alcantarilla after this signing, there are already 18 municipalities that are part of the list of Sicted quality destinations. "We have met the objectives set by the Ministry for this year 2020, making the Region of Murcia one of the communities with more municipalities that promote these quality practices," he said. The 18 regional destinations adhered to the Comprehensive System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations (Sicted) are: Águilas, Lorca, Mazarrón, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, San Javier, Sierra Espuña, Molina de Segura, Bullas, Archena, Calasparra, Cieza, Fortuna, Jumilla, Los Alcázares, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cartagena and Alcantarilla. Cristina Sánchez indicated that "we are going to achieve a homogeneous level of quality in the public and private services offered to tourists within the same destination, so that the perception and satisfaction of those who visit us is the highest, with the plus that they are certified as safe destinations ".
