The City Council of Alcantarilla reduces the average payment term to suppliers in the third quarter to 24 days (04/11/2020)

The Alcantarilla City Council has reduced the average period of payment to suppliers to 24.5 days in the third quarter, below the 30 days established by law and almost to half that in the same period of the previous year, which reached the 42.8 days. In this quarter, the obligations paid by the City Council amounted to 2.4 million euros in the third quarter of the year and 99 transactions remain pending payment, totaling 109,000 euros.

It should be noted that the City Council has not had to pay default interest. The Councilor for Finance and Human Resources, Raquel de la Paz pointed out that "this reduction complies with the commitment of the Alcantarilla City Council to speed up payment to suppliers to counteract the economic impact generated by the pandemic." On March 24, the City Council adopted exceptional fiscal measures to mitigate the socioeconomic effects derived from Covid-19 and those caused by the confinement.

Among these measures is the municipal commitment to prioritize payment to suppliers, reduce the processing time for files and make personalized payment plans available to companies that request it.
