Eleven educational centers of Alcantarilla and the residence of elders Our Lady of Health participate in the talks and drills of the XIV edition of Fire Prevention Week, which will be held in the town from December 9 to 13.
This activity is organized by the Mapfre Foundation, the Professional Association of Firefighters (APTB), in collaboration with the Firefighting and Rescue Consortium of the Autonomous Community.
The objective is to disseminate knowledge of self-protection and identify the risks that may arise at school, at home and at work, and be able to act in case of emergency.
Fire prevention guidelines are offered for children to acquire preventive habits, self-protection talks and emergency drills and evacuations.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, presented this week together with the manager of the Consortium of Firefighters of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Javier Gil;
the representative of the Mapfre Foundation, Fernando Gordo García;
and the APTB representative, Francisco Ovidio García, at the Samaniego Teaching Center, where talks about school and home self-protection are taking place this morning.
The final activity, which will be held on Friday the 13th, consists of a large party at the Prevention Park, which will be installed at the fairgrounds, with an inflatable smoke house, recommendations to follow in case of fires, prevention tips of fires and recreational activities for children and adolescents.
The participating schools are: Samaniego, San José Obrero, Jacinto Benavente, Jara Carrillo, Our Lady of the Assumption, Vistabella, Sanje, Alcántara, Campoamor, Las Tejeras and Our Lady of Health.
