Before the alert of the State Meteorological Agency that warns that tomorrow Thursday the rain could reach 70 liters in one hour and emits red level warning, classes have been suspended in the sewers of Alcantarilla, according to the order of the Ministry of Education , which has decided to suspend classes throughout the Region.

The Councilor for Education, Marina Lorenzo, explained that "it is intended to avoid unnecessary risks for students, teachers and administration, and tomorrow we will be aware of what the Ministry dictates for Friday."

On the other hand, the City Council has coordinated all municipal services in the face of the threat of heavy rain.

The Councilor for Public Safety, Víctor Martínez, stressed that "municipal services are fully coordinated to face any incident caused by rain."

Local Police has activated its special protocol in the face of the threat of heavy rain that includes cutting streets and closing gardens that may be affected.

Firefighters, Civil Protection, the City Development Department and the water and sanitation service are also on alert to intervene if necessary.

The councilor wanted to convey a message of "tranquility" to the residents of Alcantarilla, and asked for "caution" when driving with their vehicles.

To report any incident, citizens can contact the Local Sewer Police at 968801500 and 112.
