The PSOE values ​​the results of the general elections positively because the party has improved in Sewer by four points compared to the 2016 elections (28/04/2019)

The PSOE Sewer makes a positive assessment on the development of the election day.

A total of 30,193 neighbors were called to the polls and after 90% of the votes were counted, the Socialist Party improved the results obtained in the town by four points compared to the last general elections, when it came to the 18th, 23% of the votes in 2016, to hoard a 22.31% in 2019. "Socialism is quoted upwards among the neighbors, proof of this is that at the polls we have gone from 3,742 votes to 4,479," the candidate has stressed. the mayor's office, Francisco Saavedra.

The Popular Party continues to be the most voted force, although it has registered a fall of 23 points, going from hoarding 48.61% of the votes (9,978), in 2016, to only 25.46% (5,111) in the appointment with the polls of 2019. "In practice this means that the PP has lost 4,867 votes that show the dissatisfaction of the sewers with their policies," Saavedra has reflected.

The third most voted formation in the town has been Citizens (20.05%) and Vox the fourth (19.88%).

Podemos has registered a decrease in the voter registration rate of 13.64%, from 2016, to 8.91%, in 2019. "The PSOE is once again the only alternative to the right".

The socialist candidate for mayor has said that these results "are encouraging and encourage us to continue working towards the upcoming municipal elections to cut two points away from the PP to recover the City Council."

Starting next week, the PSOE will intensify the actions of its electoral committee and the meetings with the different Sewer associations.

"We are going to present to you a program with proposals to tackle unemployment and municipal debt figures, as well as projects that will prioritize the increase of green spaces and the provision of more cultural spaces to revitalize the leisure offer with the objective of stop the closure of establishments in the commercial and hospitality sector ".

Saavedra has also highlighted the high participation data that have been registered in the town.

Between 9 and 15 hours, the percentage of participation in the different polling stations already exceeded 50%, compared to 40% of the general elections of June 2016. After 18 hours, the percentage of participation was located at 64 % compared to 52% registered at the same time in the general elections three years ago.

"This high number of participation is due to the fact that the left voters have mobilized to stop the movement of the extreme right that can end the social gains of the last forty years", as the socialist candidate has reflected on the mayor's office.
