Alcantarilla counts today with its "Pacifier Tree" (10/02/2019)

This morning, in the Plaza Nuestra Señora de Lourdes in the neighborhood of Las Tejeras, the first "Tree of the Pacifiers" of the municipality of Alcantarilla was inaugurated.

The event was attended by Juan Antonio Mata, Councilor for Works, Services and Public Safety, Raquel De La Paz, Councilor for Finance and Human Resources and Juan Manuel Gómez, Councilor for Education of the City Hall of Alcantarilla, as well as numerous residents of the municipality.

This initiative was proposed by Begoña Sánchez Carrillo and the government team went to work to make it a reality through the councils of Works and Services, Social Welfare, Culture and Education.

Begoña has been commissioned, with her daughters, to hang the first pacifier on one of the branches that have been followed by dozens of children who have hung theirs on various branches of this tree that since today is a symbol of the childhood of Alcantarilla, of the smallest ones, since their branches hang their precious pacifiers.

This activity is framed within those carried out by the City Hall of Sewer as "Child Friendly City", so it has also placed on the tree a badge with the logo of this recognition that Unicef Spain gave to the municipality of Alcantarilla in the month of November 2018, in recognition of their work so that children have access to quality social services, live in a clean and safe environment and can enjoy their family life of play and leisure as well as being respected and treated fairly in its neighborhoods

For this act, in addition, workshops and activities have been organized to make the morning even more fun for all children who have approached the opening and who have been able to enjoy inflatables, crafts, ball park, face makeup, bubbles giants, Plasmara circuit and cotton candy.

We hope that civility will prevail and our "Tree of Pacifiers" will be respected, something that should be a basic norm of conduct in today's society, especially when it comes to the illusions of young children.
